Increased bilateral ties expected between China, Singapore

President Xi Jinping has said that China values its cooperation with Singapore. He said so during his meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who is in China on a week long official tour.

President Xi Jinping has said that China values its cooperation with Singapore. He said so during his meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who is in China on a week long official tour. 

President Xi said the two countries should further coordination and deepen mutual trust, and promote steady and healthy development of bilateral ties. He also suggested the two sides deepen cooperation in trade, finance, and people-to-people exchanges.

Meeting his Singaporean counterpart, Premier Li Keqiang said the two countries should strengthen their exchanges in various fields and bolster coordination on international and regional issues.

Premier Li Keqiang said the development of bilateral relations has generated benefits for both countries since diplomatic ties were first established. He said the two countries should continue building mutual understanding and support from their citizens. The Premier added that more communication was needed on global and regional affairs.

Meanwhile, the Singaporean leader expressed his appreciation for the bilateral ties with China. He said Singapore will look to strengthen exchanges, improve cooperation mechanisms, and upgrade their free trade area.
