Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to pay state visits to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from September 3rd to the 13th.

During the visits, President Xi will attend the eighth Leaders' G20 Summit to be held in St. Petersburg. He will also attend the 13th Meeting of the Council of Heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has just held a news briefing on President Xi Jinping's schedule.

Since establishing diplomatic relations with the four countries in 1992, China has maintained friendly and cooperative partnerships with each of them. And it's President Xi's first visit there since taking office.

"During President Xi Jinping's four-nation tour, he will meet with prime ministers and sign joint declarations. China and the four countries will propose new cooperation projects intended to promote bilateral relations," said Cheng Guoping, deputy minister of Chinese Foreign Ministry.

China's Deputy Foreign Minister, Li Baodong, says President Xi Jinping is not likely to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the upcoming G20 summit. He says China sees no basis for holding talks with Japan on territorial disputes, adding that Japan has ignored historical facts and taken a defiant stance on the issue through a series of provocative actions.
