McGrady announces NBA retirement, CBA return is an option

The NBA career of Tracy McGrady has reached its end as T-Mac announced he was retiring on Monday after 16 years in the Association.

The NBA career of Tracy McGrady has reached its end as T-Mac announced he was retiring on Monday after 16 years in the Association. 

The seven-time All-Star and two-time scoring champion's career began with his drafting in 1997 out of high school and ended this past season after a stint here in China's CBA and a reserve role for the San Antonio Spurs, who were defeated in the NBA Finals by the Miami Heat.

The NBA career of Tracy McGrady has reached its end as T-Mac announced he was retiring on Monday after 16 years in the Association. 

In his prime, T-Mac was one of the most feared players in the Association and ends his NBA career with career averages of 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. McGrady played for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and the Spurs during his NBA career.

T-Mac has however left the foor open for a possible return to China...as he said he might consider playing competitively in China when asked about the future. He played for the Qingdao Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association during the 2012-13 season before his last NBA hurrah with the Spurs.
