China's Li Na was back on court on Wednesday at Flushing Meadows for her round two match-up with Sweden's Sofa Arvidsson. The fifth seeded Chinese got off to a great start to her tournament, breezing through round one in straight sets and it would be more of the same for Li in the second.

China's Li Na hits a return during the women's singles second round match against Sweden's Arvidsson at the U.S. Open tennis championships in New York, Aug. 28, 2013. Li Na won 2-0.

These two ladies had met twice previously with Li winning on both occasions. And Li started strongly again, picking up an early break in set one to lead 3-0 lead..

There would not be another break in the opener until the eighth game where a couple of double faults from Arvidsson allowed Li to break the Swede and take set one by a 6-2 scoreline.

The former French Open champion made another break at the beginning of the second set and took a 2-0 lead.

The world number 100 Arvidsson though would show a little resistance, as she broke back to draw things at 2-all.

But after that, Li, put the hammer down, winning four straight to seal her straight sets win with another 6-2 win in set two as she is off to the round of 32 in impressive fashion.

Li said, "The last time I played her was back at the 2011 Australian Open and it was actually a very tough second set. I mean it may have looked like an easy match, but it was not really easy. I was like today I have to improve a little bit on my serve and come to the net. I'm always serious about any match I play, but last week in New Haven was a bit easier for me because I had a week to prepare. This week has been tougher because I didn't have much time to get ready. I'm trying to improve things not only in my game but also working to control my emotions on court. I will be concentrating on both of these elements."
