Chinese fashion storms New York.
Distinctively Chinese... though not all are familiar with Chinese fashion, everyone here certainly remembers the name "Fashion Shenzhen".
Fashion Shenzhen has taken part in London fashion week 5 years in a row. This is its first time in New York, marking another major achievement for Chinese fashion.
"China has a unique and ancient culture, and this is a great asset. Our designers are the best, so I don't see why we can't make it to the world stage. We can do just as well if not better. We can create a unique blend of East and West," said Shen Yongfang, director of Shenzhen Garment Association.
Over 300 people attended the event. And American fashion dealers have shown great interest in the Chinese designs showcased here. Analysts believe this will further boost China's image, and help the world see the great cultural developments that are taking place there.
