Li: China to deepen cooperation with World Bank

Premier Li Keqiang has spoken highly of efforts by the World Bank to boost cooperation with China and other developing countries. He says China is willing to cooperate more closely with the World Bank.

Premier Li Keqiang holds talks with visiting World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim in Beijing. 

In talks with visiting World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim in Beijing, Premier Li said the key to promoting steady global economic recovery is to resolve the development issue. He said China hopes the World Bank will play a bigger role in assisting developing countries and in poverty reduction. He added that China is ready to deepen cooperation in order to inject more impetus into the world economy.

Regarding China's reform process, Li said China is striving to boost innovation, which is closely linked with reform and development. He said innovation could be directly translated into higher productivity, helping to lift social competitiveness, improving the quality and efficiency of socio-economic development and economic transformation.

Jim Yong Kim said the World Bank appreciates China's efforts to push forward reform. He said the Bank is willing to cooperate closer with China to help in the process of the country's economic upgrading.
