US President Obama says national security operations are being reassessed to make sure the NSA's growing technical spying capability is kept under control.
"The national security operations generally have one purpose. That is to make sure that the American people are safe, and that I am making good decisions on the final use of the intelligence that they gather. But they are involved in a whole wide range of issues. And the way we give them policy direction. But what we've seen in the past several years is that their capacities continued to develop and expand. That's why I am initiating a review to make sure what they are able to do doesn't necessarily mean what they should be doing." Obama said.
