China's navy has continued combat drills in the Western Pacific Ocean. The open-sea exercise is the first to involve maritime and air forces from all three of China's fleets.

Surface combat vessels separated into blue and red sides, staging mock battles under real combat conditions.

The drill aims to improve high sea combat capabilities, and hone strategies using advanced technologies. China's Navy says the exercise will last until the beginning of November.
