The foreign media has mostly responded positively to the detailed targets released by the CPC Central Committee's document for deepening overall reform. The document released on Friday contains 60 specific reforms covering 15 areas.

Reuters said the Chinese government has made a series of courageous reform plans in economic and social fields, which laid more solid foundations for the future development of the world’s second largest economy. It demonstrated the CPC’ determination to reform and its respect to people’s will.

The Singapore-based Lianhe Zaobao commented that the reform resolution is very detailed and targeted, indicating the Communist Party of China has adopted a pragmatic approach.

CNN and the New York Times focused on the decision to abolish the re-education through labor system, saying it was important progress to improve China’s judicial system. On the loosening of the one-child policy, AFP said it will be conducive to mitigating the effects of the country’s rapid ageing population.
