China has released a national plan on combating climate change at the UN Climate Change Conference in the Polish capital Warsaw.

The National Strategy of Climate Change Adaptation was jointly compiled primarily by the Finance, Agriculture, Meteorological and Forestry ministries over a period of two years.

It underlines the country's aim to play a more positive role in the global response to climate change, and gives guidance on how authorities can set out measures to actively adjust to climate change concerns.

Xie Zhenhua, vice minister of China's Development and Reform Commission, announced the official release of China’s National Strategy of Climate Change Adaptation.

"It clarifies China’s guiding ideology and principles in adapting to climate change. It also can instruct relevant departments in coordinating and making overall plans by setting goals and tasks, and putting forward supporting measures and regional structure projects," Xie said.
