Chinese president meets Olympic chief Bach

Chinese president Xi Jinping has met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. It is the German boss' first visit to China since his winning office in September.

Chinese President Xi congratulated Bach on being elected as ninth IOC president and thanked Bach and IOC’s support and guidance of China’s sports and Olympic movement. Xi also granted Bach an hornoured golden Olympic medal, hornoring his support of the Beijing Olympic Games and Nanjing Youth Olympics.

Bach expressed his approsication for Chinese government's consistent supports of the International Olympic Games, and thanked China's efforts for world's Olympic games. Xi said China will do its best to host 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing. And Chinese government is engaged fully in the bidding to host the 2022 Winter Games, which will be held in Beijing alongside Zhangjiakou.

IOC President Thomas Bach inspected the committee building and venues under construction for 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, the capital city of Eastern China's Jiangsu Province On Monday. Nanjing is the host city of next year’s Youth Olympics. The German was satisfied at preparation work of the committee, and construction process of Olympic venues.
