Monitoring and clean-up work continues after the pipeline explosion in Qingdao. Professionals from the departments of safety supervision, fire-fighting and the chemical industry have engaged in detection work.

120 monitoring points were set up to prevent a secondary explosion.

After monitoring day and night, no flammable gas was found, which ruled out the possibility of another explosion.

According to the city’s Maritime Safety Administration, the oil spill has spread across an area of 10,000 square meters in Jiaozhou Bay. Brown-colored oil can be found on many beaches. Oil displacement ships and hundreds of professional staff worked to prevent marine pollution by means of intercepting, oil absorption and oil dissolution.
