Spain's top league has honoured their best from the 2012-2013 season as La Liga held their annual awards on Monday. No surprise that Barcelona and Real Madrid were at the heart of things once again with Barca's Lionel Messi winning two prizes and Andres Iniesta taking home the Attacking Midfielder of the Year. But the biggest prize on the night went to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo receives the Alfredo Di Stefano Award during Premios MARCA de Futbol Gala on December 2, 2013 in Madrid, Spain.

Ronalo was named the La Liga MVP thanks to his outstanding performance in league play, domestic Cup games, and national team matches. He scored 25 goals in La Liga and Champions League matches as he takes the award for the second straight time.

Messi, who was unable to attend as he is in Argentina recovering from his injury, won both the Player of the Year and Best Forward awards.
