This year marks the 10th anniversary of Canto-pop diva Anita Mui's passing. And even though she's long gone, fans and friends have certainly not forgotten her. They include two Hong Kong stars, singer Jacky Cheung and actor Eric Tsang, who've announced that they're putting together a memorial concert to honor Mui's legacy and music.

Dubbed the "Madonna of the East," Anita Mui's music career blossomed in the 80s. She released 30 Canto pop albums and won numerous music awards in Hong Kong, as well as abroad. She was also a successful actress, with over 40 feature film credits under her belt.

She died of cancer in 2003.

Yet Anita Mui's legacy lives on. As her close friends, singer Jacky Cheung and actor Eric Tsang are putting together a memorial concert for her. It will be a 90-minute show, with guest performers singing Mui's greatest hits. Some of her closest friends in the entertainment industry will also take to the stage and share their fondest memories of her.

"We want to put on an impressive show for Mui, so we'll try to do our best. We're inviting friends who are suitable, and those who carry enough weight to help out. There are already some on the guest-list, but we're not going to disclose it yet," Cheung said.

"I just want to say that this concert is more about quality than quantity. The performing guests are all being hand-picked by Jacky. We also want to invite Mui's good friends, " Tsang said.

Jacky Cheung has performed in countless concerts of his own, but he says this experience is the most nerve wrecking.

"The pressure, it's bigger than organizing my own concert, for many reasons," Cheung said. "Because I have to take into consideration the interests of the other guests. When I plan my own concert, I just have to worry about myself. But we have a lot of guests performing this time, so you have to think about what suits them best. You want them to do well, and you have to listen to what they want. So that's difficult."

The Anita Mui Memorial Concert will take place on December 30th, on the anniversary of her death. The show will be broadcast live on various television and radio stations in Hong Kong. Proceeds from the show will be donated to some of Mui's favorite charities.
