Obama and Castro shake hands at Mandela's memorial service

As world leaders gathered in Johannesburg for former South African President Nelson Mandela's memorial, US President Barack Obama shook hands with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro at the memorial service. This came after small steps taken by the two sides recently toward rapprochement.

U.S. President Barack Obama shook hands with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro while attending the memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela on Tuesday. 

Both Obama and Castro gave speeches in memory of the anti-apartheid fighter, who died on December 5 at the age of 95.
