Hollywood is catering to the family market for the new year, with a number of notable films coming out in the first quarter of the year. We take a look now at some of the most anticipated kids films coming out soon, good news if you're a fan of LEGO and dogs!

Out in February is "The LEGO Movie" - the first-ever, full-length LEGO film adventure.

Out in February is "The LEGO Movie" - the first-ever, full-length LEGO film adventure. The story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rule-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the key to saving the world.

The movie features an all star voice cast, including Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill and will be released in the U.S. on February 7th and in the UK on February 14th.

And from DreamWorks Animation comes "Mr. Peabody and Sherman". Mr. Peabody is a businessman, inventor, scientist, Nobel Laureate, two-time Olympic medallist, and genius - who also happens to be a dog.

Using his most ingenious invention - a time machine, Mr. Peabody and his adopted son Sherman hurtle back in time to experience world-changing events first-hand and interact with some of the greatest characters from history.

The movie will be released in the UK on February 7th and on March 7th in the U.S..

And more canine frivolities in May with the release of "Pudsey: The Movie", The film is about a cheeky stray dog, Pudsey, who is quite happy being a lone ranger and looking out for number one until he meets his siblings.

As Pudsey starts to settle in with the family and realize what he was missing when he was alone, he stumbles across a conspiracy to harm the village and is determined to go on a rescue mission. So all in all an entertaining start to the year.
