The Australian Open singles Day One saw China's Li Na get her run started with an easy win over Ana Konjuh of Croatia. The fourth seed meets world number 186 Belinda Bencic in Round Two.

Li's first round opponent is only 16. Li Na managed to overpower the youngster once she went into her game.

Coach Carlos Rodriguez urged his player to be as aggressive as she can. With a break in the bag, she even tried out some old school serve and volley, and that is simply brilliant from the number four seed.

The Wuhan native served for the set, and took it 6-2, as the the European player in her first-ever Slam began to fade fast.

In fact Li didn't lose another game, and it was all over in 58 minutes, 6-2, 6-love.

Her next opponent, Bencic, is also sixteen, and also in her first Grand Slam.

In other matches, the top-seeded woman, Serena Williams, easily past Australia's Ashley Barty 6-2, 6-1 in the night session.

But it was a stunner for sixth seed Petra Kvitova, who lost to the world number 88, Thailand's Luk-sika Kum-khum, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.

Novak Djokovic started his run towards what he hopes will be a fourth straight title. It was a straight sets win for him over Lukas Lacko of Slovakia.
