6 more cases of human H7N9 confirmed Tuesday

Six more human H7N9 cases have been reported across China.

Three were reported on Tuesday in east China’s Zhejiang Province, bringing the total number to 29 in the area this year. The three are all male, two of them are in a severe condition, the other one is in a critical condition. The other three cases were reported in Shenzhen city of Guangdong province. Two of them are in a severe condition.

A H7N9 avian flu patient from the Chinese mainland died on Monday in Chinese Taipei. The 86-year-old man from east China’s Jiangsu Province tested positive for the H7N9 virus during a trip to Taiwan in late December. So far this year, human H7N9 cases have also been reported in Jiangsu, Fujian, Guangdong provinces and Shanghai municipality. Zhejiang province has the biggest number of human cases among all areas nationwide.
