The Chinese film "Black Coal, Thin Ice" has won the Golden Bear for best picture at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.
The movie, directed by Diao Yi'nan, is a detective thriller set in northern China. The movie also picked up the best actor award, with Liao Fan winning for his role as a former policeman investigating a mysterious series of killings. The film was one of three Chinese entries in this year’s 20-movie competition.
Meanwhile, American Richard Linklater won the Silver Bear for Best Director with his film "Boyhood", and Haru Kuroki won best actress for her role in the Japanese film "The Little House".
