Beijing Guoan were pegged back to a one one draw at Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Guoan’s new coach, Gregorio Manzano denied a victory in his first match by a late equaliser from the Japanese.

Neither sides couldn’t turn their chances into goals in the first half. But After the break, Dae Sung Ha gave Guoan the lead in the 63rd minute, 1-0. But the home side would level the score 15 minutes later, as Kazuhiko Chiba scored a beautiful goal. And it stayed 1-1 even though there was a late sending off for Beijing as Darko Matic was dismissed after a trip.

Shandong 1-1 Buriram United

A Group E match saw last season’s Chinese Super League runner-up Shandong Luneng host Buriram United of Thailand - no first half goals

And Shandong would bring the game to life, in the 57th minute as Aloisio Santos went down in the box and it was a penalty. However, the Brazilian, who just joined the team a month ago, missed the opportunity - smashing it over the bar.

But the hosts managed to break the deadlock in the 83rd minute, Walter Montillo delivered a great pass to substitute Liu Binbin, who easily beat the goalkeeper.

However, the Thai treble winners pulled level by aweful defending by the home team and Adisak Kraisorn allowed to score injury time. 1-1, Shandong see their 3 points turned into 1.
