LeBron James, who is known as the King, had a performance worthy of royalty on Monday. The league's reigning MVP went off for a career high 61 points as the NBA champion Heat blitzed the Charlotte Bobcats 124-107.

The masked man, with the broken nose, would have to carry the load for the Heat with Dwyane Wade not playing.

And LBJ would find his groove early as he dials long-distance. He would definitely find his comfort zone early from behind the arc as Miami led by 11.

He would also be able to slice through the Charlotte defence to get his points.

James would have 24 at the half, but it was the third quarter where he really started to go off. First hitting a pair of triples in the face of Michael Kid-Gilchrist. Then he is able to beat his man off the dribble for the hoop and harm.

The King was unconscious, nailing his first seven threes and then making it 8-for-8 from downtown. He had a ridiculous 25 points in the third quarter alone, as he hears it from the Miami crowd.

Lebron would have 51 points after this foray into the lane.

And then sets a Miami record -- breaking Glen Rice's high of 56 points.

James would finish the night -- with 61 points, and gets a nice ovation as he leaves the court, setting a career-high and franchise high in points and Miami rolls to a 17 point win.

"You know, it felt like I had a golf ball throwing into the ocean. Especially in the third quarter, at one point I pulled up behind the three-point line, probably like thirty feet, and when that one went in I knew I was in a really, really good groove. And I'm not much of a three-point shooter. I've worked on it, but hey, I was able to knock a few down." James said.

In other action, Brooklyn hosted Chicago. The home side started off strong, as Darren Williams hits the acrobatic reverse and his side is up double digits. They continue to get to the cup in the second q, Andray Blatche gets the hoop and the harm and it is an 11-point margin.

Chi-town would keep things close. Mike Dunleavy finds a cutting Carlos Boozer, and trims the margin to 3.

Joe Johnson would double the lead a few moments later as he dials long distance and the Nets take the lead into the break.

Brooklyn would go on a run in the third quarter, Williams again getting into the lane, and he is hacked in the act. His floater making it a 16-point edge.

D.J. Augustine would then hit a three to make it a 9-point game, and they could get no closer.

And then in the final minutes, Jason Collins comes in off the bench. It is his first home game with Brooklyn since signing with the Nets and announcing that he is gay. He gets a nice ovation from the fans, as his team is able to come away with a 16-point victory.

In other action, Andre Drummond had a career high with 26 rebounds as Detroit dumped the New York Knicks. While the Association's worst team, the Milwaukee Bucks were able to pick-up a rare win as they demolished the Utah Jazz.

Kevin Love had a monster game as he poured in 33 points and hauled down 19 rebounds in Minnesota's 4 point win over Denver. Kent Bazemore threw an alley-oop to Wesley Johnson for the go-ahead dunk with 6-point9 seconds left to lift the Lakers over Portland.

And Tayshuan Prince scored a season high 21 points as the Memphis Grizzlies were able to outlast the Washington Wizards.
