25 countries are now involved in the search mission for flight MH370. The search area now covers vast swaths of land and water, stretching from central Asia to the southern Indian Ocean.

Malaysian authorities say they are coordinating the multinational efforts. They have asked countries in or near the area for help, including satellite data and analysis, ground-search capabilities and maritime and air assets.

In response, Australian officials have said they will do what they can to help locate the missing flight. A team of French investigators is also heading to Malaysia and will arrive on Monday.
