The 9th China Supermodel Final Contest has just wrapped up in Beijing. It was part of China Fashion Week that has been rekindling the passion of fashionistas in the capital.

30 contestants took part in the final, each having won one of the 15 regional heats. The theme of the show is "fantasy" and the models strutted down the catwalk showcasing a fresh collection for 2014.
The contest is divided into the three parts: chic attire, swim suits and formal wear. But as one judge explains, the winner needs to have that extra va va voom.
"We're not necessarily looking for the one with the most beautiful features. But she needs to have special traits that make her stand out, because its the uniqueness of the models that brings out the effect the designer wants to achieve," said Wu Xuewei, a judge.
And the winner of the contest is 16-year-old Gengxuan from Liaoning Province in North East China. The second and third places go to Wang Ruiyu and Zhang Li respectively, both from Beijing. So watch this space to see a lot more of these models in the future.
