US contestants shine in Chinese speech contest

The US regional contest of the 13th Chinese Bridge Chinese language contest was held last Saturday. Held in the Confucius institute of the University of Maryland, it has attracted numerous American students gifted in Chinese.

US contestants shine in Chinese speech contest. 

This is the US finals of the contest. Ten American contestants each gave a fascinating speech on their Chinese dream. A constant from Brigham University stood out from the rest with a passionate delivery of his aspirations to provide for the medical needs of people in China.

According to the contestants, their experience learning Chinese has been a journey of self-discovery and certainly also enriches their lives.

Chinese is gaining traction in the US at a staggering speed. This is especially true for children. Chinese poems recitals and dancing were performed by talented youngsters in the interval of the contest. According to the Confucius institute, an increasing number of students in the US are learning Chinese and planning their careers around China.
