SIFF: 15 films vie for Golden Goblet

The International Jury of the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival has announced that 15 films will compete for the "Golden Goblet", the top prize of the annual festival. The fifteen films come from a long list of over 2,000 entries from more than 100 countries.

Among the 15 finalists, two are from China including Zhang Meng's "The Uncle Victory" centering on the rapid changes taking place in a small town in China, and "The Sacred Arrow" directed by Pema Tseden. "Ant Story" from Bangladesh examines the estrangement of two generations.

"Begin Again" from the United States traces the relationship of two musicians. Other entries include Thailand's "The Last Executioner", and "Predestination" from Australia. The winners will be announced Sunday in Shanghai.
