Paris Fashion week is in full swing! Golden labels such as Valentino, Chanel and Elie Saab are all unveiling their latest collections. The fashion shows are also attracting a host of celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian and Karl Lagerfeld.
Kim Kardashian attends Wednesday's Valentino haute couture show in Paris. The reality star and newlywed appears alongside British actress Emma watson.
"Yes. I'm wearing Valentino tonight, and I have been such a big fan since I was a little girl and I would look at my mom's dresses, and I've been wearing my mom's now vintage Valentino gowns, and they are so classic and such an amazing strong brand that I'm just here to support tonight and see the new collection." Kim Kardashian said.
The collection features Straight-lined gowns shimmering in subdued gold and silver. And Etruscan motifs in black and gold are bold on white dresses. A crimson open-back gown is belted with a matte leather waist wrap.
Footwear is simple with variations on flat gladiator sandals, some with cords wrapping the legs like ivy.
Meanwhile, Chanel presents its fall-winter 2014-15 couture collection in two separate viewings at the Grand Palais in Paris. It culminates with a pregnant model, Ashleigh Good, in the role of a couture bride, walking arm in arm with fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld. Dressed in an elegant crepe de Chine gown with a gold brocade and a neat line along the bodice, the design is the highlight of the show.
Also at Paris fashion week are the latest designs by Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab.
Saab's designs are often worn by Hollywood actresses and celebrities for red carpet events, so it's no surprise that some of those stars attend his fashion show.
The "Vampire Diaries" actress Nina Dobrev is looking for a dress at the show to wear to the premiere of her new film.
I'm a big fan of Elie's. I'm a repeat wear fan, and I honestly think that every single dress or pant outfit, everything that he does is immaculate. The detail that goes into every dress. Every season, when you think he's done it all, he surprises us." Nina Dobrev said.
Saab's collection sees models glide down the runway in intricately embroidered gowns embellished with pearls. The show wraps up with a statuesque model in a grand iridescent wedding gown, which the designer compares to an "apparition."
Paris Fashin week will run until this Saturday, so stay tuned for more inspiration from the catwalk this week.
