The People's Liberation Army will launch a drill on the southeast coast of China in two days. It's a routine exercise to enhance the PLA's combat capability. The Defense Ministry says it's working with major airports in southeast China to minimize the impact on civil flights. It will open new temporary routes, mark out protection zones, and make detours for the civil flights.

It says air control is essential to ensuring territorial safety, flight safety and airspace order. It also says in recent years, the PLA has taken multiple measures to minimize the impact of military exercises on civil airlines.
