Disaster relief work in progress in quake zone

It's been a week since the magnitude-6.5 quake jolted Ludian County in the city of Zhaotong. So far, 617 bodies have been found in Ludian, Qiaojia, Zhaoyang, Huize counties, and all of them have been buried. However,112 people are still missing, and over 3,000 people have been injured. Families of those who died in the quake have received a 20,000 yuan pension from local governments.

Tens of thousands of tents, cotton quilts, clothes and folding beds have been dispatched to the disaster area. Survivors have also been supplied with rice, mineral water, instant noodles, milk, bread and biscuits.

By Sunday afternoon, the quake zones had received more than 600 million yuan in donations. All roads in the quake zone have been reopened, allowing for more relief goods to pour in. Water and power supplies to the quake-affected areas have been restored. Medical workers have so far been effective in preventing the outbreak of communicable diseases in the quake zone.
