The People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy on Wednesday held a memorial ceremony for the First Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 on a ship anchored in a Weihai port in east China's Shandong Province.

A Chinese navy spokeswoman said in a press conference ahead of the anniversary, that there'll be two days of events held on a Chinese Navy vessel, and there'll also be a seminar on the war. She said that another special memorial session will be held in waters near Weihai city, which was one of the major battlefields 120 years ago.
