Peng ranked 39th. Her Polish opponent ranked fifth.

The two would remain on serve through the first six games, Radwanska winning this point with a nice volley at the net.

But Peng would start to take control of the set -- check out the lob to break her opponent.

And then the two exchange in a nice rally in the next game, that Peng takes after a nice drop volley. The Chinese took the opener 6-3.

Peng Shuai upsets Radwanska 6-3, 6-4

Second set, she would continue to dictate play, as she forces Radwanska to hit long and take a 3-2 edge. And then the service winner has her on the verge of a major upset.

Radwanska had a chance to break back and stay in the match ... but hits long, to give the Chinese another chance to seal the win. And two points later, would clinch it with a backhand winner ... and registers one of the biggest upset of the tournament so far.

"I played her four times and then I win her only one time and that was in the US Open four years ago. So maybe I saw from like long time the lucky may be coming back today. In Australian Open I remember I have two match points - didn't make it. Like three years ago or something, so today when I play I know she was really like tough, one of top players, because she never miss and she's running so fast. She make like you saw a lot like angles, you know, really smart player and then for the match I was really ready today. I have to run a lot," Peng Shuai said.

"Well, you know, it's a good question. I want to know the answer for that question, as well. Of course also depends who you play, that's for sure. But draw is the draw. You have no choice. But, you know, I didn't play bad today, I think it was just her day. Of course, I could do something different maybe or try something else, as well, but I really try my best and I was fighting till the end. I just couldn't do it," Agnieszka Radwanska said.

Safarova beats Zheng Saisai in three sets

20-year-old Zheng Saisai faced 14th seed Lucie Safarova. The Chinese would start strong and race out to a 2-love lead in the opener. But the Czech would win the next three games, in fact she would win six of the next seven to win the first set.

The 14th seed would start to cruise in the second, as the Shaanxi native would start making too many errors, and fall behind 3-1.

But the Chinese would start to find her form, and was able to break her opponent's serve and even the match at 3 games all in the frame. And she would continue her fine form, and break Safarova to take a 4-3 lead en route to a 6-3 win and force a decider.

In the final set, the Czech 14th seed would start to take control. Check out this backhand down the line. And Safarova would cruise to a 6-2 third set win, taking it with a forehand winner -- she is now into the third round.
