China intends to establish its first space station by 2022. That's according to Yang Liwei, deputy Director of China Manned Space Engineering Office. He spoke to CCTV on the sidelines of the 27th congress of the Association of Space Explorers, currently being held in Beijing. And he said, China is ready to work with other countries to achieve its space mission.
"By 2022, China's space station will play a bigger role in global cooperation. China looks forward to cooperating with other countries in space station technology, astronaut training, program design, equipment research and development, and space medicine. I think these goals can be realized soon," he said.
