Working in an office can get quite dull sometimes, so artists in Beijing are looking to brighten things up in the city's central business district. Known for its bustling commercial activity, this area of Eastern Beijing is now turning into a giant landscape for artists, who are painting buses and making sculptures to add vibrancy and creativity to the busy district.

Artists are painting buses to add vibrancy and creativity to the busy central business district.

Going to work in style! Graffiti painted buses bring a gasp of fresh air to your daily routines.

The buses are all one of a kind, painted with trendy new vocabulary to send a message of youth.

"We spray new English fusion words like 'galivabel' on the buses, the word is the English pronunciation of the word 'geili' which originated in China. Now it's in some American dictionaries. It has the meaning of positive and commendable to it. We want to inject these fresh elements into the work space," an artist said.

Other artists are making sculptures in open spaces near office buildings. The works range from small sculptures to creations almost two meters tall.

"This reflects the life of many white-collar workers in Beijing's business district. It depicts a man working overtime with a neck pillow to show just how dedicated he is. He is so absorbed in his work he forgot to feed his cat. It is very rare for us artists to make such close interactions with people while creating our works. I bet many of my fellow sculptors are jealous of me," another artist.

Other activities that took place recently in the heart of Beijing's business district include singing contests and group jogs. Many participants regard this as a great opportunity to relieve stress and make new friends.
