China's gold medal total at the Incheon Asian Game has reached 100, after Ma Yuanyuan and Xia Xinyi won the women's beach volleyball final a short while ago. Their success on the sand followed an arduous trek on the road and track, as compatriot Wang Zhen won gold medal number 99 in the men's 20-kilometer racewalk.

Wang had won bronze in this event at the 2012 London Olympics, but Japan's Yusuke Suzuki took the lead in the early minutes in Incheon, with the Chinese close behind.

Wang Zhen nailed down gold medal number 99 in the men's 20-kilometer racewalk.

Suzuki stayed ahead until the 16th kilometer, when Wang stepped up and passed him by. And the 23-year-old left no opening for his rival, as he strolled to the finish in 1 hour 19 minutes and 45 seconds.

Suzuki had to settle for silver, while the bronze went to local competitor Kim Hyun-sub.
