China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi says Beijing is ready for the upcoming APEC meetings in Beijing.

2014 marks the 25th anniversary of APEC. Back in 2001, China hosted the 9th APEC Economic Leaders Meeting. 13 years later, APEC is back in China once again.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, speaking at the 10th Lanting Forum, said that the country is looking forward to the changes and initiatives from the meeting.

"We have identified "Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership" as the theme of this year's APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, and we have also agreed to make advancing economic integration, promoting innovative economic development, reform and growth, and strengthening comprehensive connectivity and infrastructure development as the three major topics of the meetings. This year's APEC is standing at a new historic starting point. We hope that three goals will be achieved in the APEC meeting in Beijing. First, to shape the future through Asia-Pacific Partnership. Second, to build a open Asia-Pacific economy, and third to build the course of APEC development. I want to let you that Beijing is ready, and China is ready!" Wang said.

APEC has made significant contributions and opened a new chapter in China's relations with the Asia Pacific. In 2013, 60 percent of China's total foreign trade was with APEC members. In terms of utilized foreign investment, 83 percent was with APEC members and 69 percent of China's outbound investment flowed to APEC members. China has put forward a series of initiatives such as the Silk Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank. Asia Pacific economies are increasingly relying more on China for cooperative partnerships.

"The economic growth in China is the most dynamic, not only here in the Asia-Pacific Region, but all over the world. In my point of view, China is a real economic leader of the global economy," Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov said.

"China has continue to grow, which is a crucial factor to support the Asia-Pacific Economy. It's now the second largest economy, it's number one in trade with increasing investment. China has keep its economy under order and keep to grow," Zhang Yunling with Chinese Academy of Social Science said.

"China happens to be in the position now. China is being called to play a leading role in community building, particularly in forming deeper and deeper economic integration and cooperation," Djisman Simandjuntak, chairman of Indonesian Nat'l Committee for Pacific Econ. Coop., said.

APEC member economies are strengthening cooperation to promote free trade and economic development. At the upcoming APEC meetings in Beijing, China will be hoping to build a closer relationship with members and form a truly harmonious community in the Asia-Pacific region.
