President Xi arrives in Brisbane for G20 Summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Brisbane to attend the G20 Summit, which opens on Saturday.

Xi arrived here Friday to attend the 9th G20 Summit slated for Nov. 15-16 and pay a state visit to Australia after that. [Xinhua] 

On his arrival, President Xi extended sincere greetings and good wishes to the Australian people. He said he expects to make joint efforts with leaders attending the G20 Summit to advance global economic governance, address various challenges together and promote common development and prosperity.

After the summit, Xi will go to Canberra on a state visit to Australia. He will hold talks with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and deliver a speech to parliament.

Australia is the first leg of Xi's ongoing tour, which will also take him to New Zealand and Fiji.
