China's aerospace industry has reached a new milestone: the 200th Long March rocket mission, which will launch a Sino-Brazil Joint Resource Satellite.

A Long March-4B carrier rocket will blast off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center today. It is a three-stage launcher with a normal temperature liquid propellant. It is used to carry satellites to Sun- synchronous orbits.

The first hundred Long March launches took place over a span of 37 years. The second hundred were launched over seven years.

China's first satellite, the Dongfanghong One, went into orbit 44 years ago, making China the fifth nation to achieve independent launch capability.
