Stars decended on the red carpet for the premiere of "The Theory of Everything", the film based on the life of Stephen Hawking.

Yet the biggest star of the night is definetely Hawking himself who also appears at the event. British actor Eddie Redmayne, who plays Hawking, was particularly starstruck to share the carpet with the scientist.

"It's pretty special," actor of "The Theory of Everything" Eddie Redmayne said. "It's a moment, these are the moments you try and breathe in and try to remember, try to photograph each moment, it was pretty extraordinary."

"The Theory of Everything" is based on a book by Stephen Hawking's first wife Jane, who he met at Cambridge University.

The movie covers 25 years of the couple's life together, before and after his diagnosis of motor neuron disease. And since then, it seems the British scientist has not lost the charm which first caught Jane's eye in the 1960s.

"As Stephen's physicality was declining, this is so extraordinary, he is currently speaking and I'm kind of trying to listen while at the same time talking to you, as the muscles declined he tended to use the right hand side of his face when he was speaking," Redmayne said. "So there is quite a lot of the film I was using that and these sort of lines, according to the make-up designer, the lines started getting stronger. So I had my little mark of Stephen."

"The Theory of Everything" premieres in the UK on Jan. 1st before hitting the big screens worldwide.
