A trip to South Korea is great for sightseeing, tasting Korean delicacies or for plastic surgery. But now, there's another reason to go to South Korea.

These aren't celebrities posing on set.

Jackie and Wayne, a soon-to-be-married couple from Hong Kong in their twenties, have paid about 4,000 US dollars to take their pre-wedding photos on this TV show set in South Korea.

The bride-to-be thinks this is the perfect setting for their once-in-a-lifetime wedding shots.

"So when we first met, our first trip was to Korea; so we thought it would be a good idea to have our wedding pictures in Korea. And also, because this drama's been really popular in Asia, and we really like the backdrop, so we thought it would be a good idea to get our pictures done there," Jackie said.

The pair re-enact scenes from "My Love from the Star", a romantic comedy about the relationship between a top actress and her alien boyfriend. With hair and make-up still intact, the couple also have the signature "chicken and beer" combo for dinner, just like the heroes from the soap.

An estimated 10,000 couples from outside of Korea, mostly of Chinese ethnicity, come to this country to get their wedding photoshoots done. Even if it means paying at least four times more than it would cost them to do so in other countries.

Companies like HowToMarry provide customised packages for those who come from all over Asia.

"Our customers are from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam. And we not only provide a translator on the spot, but we also let them choose where they want to take the photoshoot, what kind of dresses they want to wear and what kind of make-up and hairstyle they want for their photoshooting experience," Jun So-Yoon, k-Wedding Dept. director of Howtomarry, said.

The couple were up since dawn to get their make-up and hair done by stylists in Seoul's upscale Gangnam district. They travelled light, as everything from attire, jewellery and props were taken care of here.

"It was totally worth it. And I do think it was a really good experience. The price, I don't think it's unreasonable, but it is a bit more than just regular price, but on top, you get extra service. 10 people are actually serving you throughout the day," Jackie said.

Jackie and Wayne still have eleven months to go until they officially tie the knot. But these glamorous pictures will be on display at their wedding to show off their special South Korean fairytale moments.
