Giorgio Armani looks to east for inspiration
Bamboo prints and obi belts. The 2015 spring-summer Couture collection from Giorgio Armani was resolutely set in the East and appropriately held at the Tokyo Palace Museum in Paris Tuesday evening.
"I just love the tailoring. I love his jackets, I love the softness of the masculine side but with a great softness and delicacy to it. Then he does these evening dresses that are just like fairy princess dresses which I just love. So I love the way he can play on both sides," actress Kristin Scott-Thomas said.
Armani, who turned 80 last year, revisited the pant suit with airy, wide-legged pants in silk and organza.
Long jackets in jade and celadon green were tied at the waist with a large sash in a traditional kimono-style bow, also known as an obi belt.
The zen ambiance carried through the evening wear, with darker pieces still playing the Japanese card but with a touch of sparkle.
