'The Royals' will debut on U.S. television network E! on Sunday, March 15th. |
Former model-turned actress Elizabeth Hurley leads the show as the complex Queen Helena on the new television series "The Royals".
"I don't know if I'm a villain or hero. I know a lot of people are going to say villain, but I think there is a heroic streak in Queen Helena as well. And I think even though she does bad things I think she believes she does them for the greater good. We'll have to wait-and-see," she said.
Hurley, a native of England, grew up following the royal family. Although an admirer, she joked she may now never get a chance to meet any of them in person. And actor, William Moseley, who plays the Queen's son, Prince Liam, agrees the royal family has lasting power.
"In the way that it's tradition. It's a part of English culture and you know they really don't do any harm, like, you know, like, if it ain't broke don't fix it." Said William Moseley, actor.
Moseley revealed that he even looked to Prince Harry for inspiration. "He is a normal kind of guy. He seems like one of them lads and I like that about him. So I tried to play Liam, my character, with that same sort of energy."
Australian actress Alexandra Park portrays the Queen's daughter, Princess Eleanor, and said her character is a wild child party girl. American creator, writer and producer Mark Schwahn is the mastermind behind the show and hopes audiences will quickly learn it's just a soap opera.
