Chinese President Xi Jinping met with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in Beijing on Tuesday.

Xi praised Kissinger's contributions to China-US ties and said a strong relationship between the two countries benefits the both nations and the rest of the world. Xi said that China is willing to join hands with the US to boost bilateral ties.

Explaining that China's development needs a peaceful environment, Xi stressed that the two nations should enhance mutual confidence and manage disputes well.
