Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with Vietnamese General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong in Beijing.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with Vietnamese General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong in Beijing. 

President Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, held a welcoming ceremony for Trong. Both leaders reviewed a guard of honor of the three services of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with Vietnamese General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong in Beijing. 

After the ceremony, Xi and Trong paid a visit to an exhibition that showcased the achievements of the theoretical seminars jointly hold by the CPC and the CPV. The seminar, which was first held in 2003, provides platforms for both sides to communicate and share experiences.

Xi and Trong reviewed the introduction of the backgrounds for establishing the seminar, and looked through the photos of the past seminars.

Trong is in Beijing from Tuesday to Friday, at the invitation of Xi.
