Xi arrives in Jakarta for Asian-African summit

Fresh from a state visit to Pakistan, Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Indonesia for the Asian-African summit and commemorative activities for the historic 1955 Bandung Conference.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan are welcomed upon their arrival in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, April 21, 2015. Xi Jinping arrived in Indonesia late Tuesday for an Asian-African summit and commemorative activities for the historic 1955 Bandung Conference. [Xinhua] 

This marks President Xi's second trip to the country in 2 years. He will address the leaders' meeting in Jakarta on carrying on the Bandung Spirit and boosting Asia-Africa cooperation in the new era.

Xi Jinping will also hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with other leaders on the sidelines. On Friday, he will attend events marking the 60th anniversary of the first major Asian-African conference, in the heritage city where it all started, Bandung.
