FINA World Swimming Championships in Kazan is ongoing. The fourth day of the competition saw China's hopes of a golden sweep in diving ended by Italian Tania Cagnotto in the women's 1m springboard.

China had claimed gold medals in the first five diving events in Kazan, and He Zi would like to extend the successful run of the nation.

But Cag-notto benefited from her early lead, carrying a 10.65-point advantage into the last round that allowed her to survive being outscored.

The Italian lady would reach a total of 310.85 after the 5th dive.

China's Shi Tingmao would challenge a difficult dive in her last chance. In the end, she could only settle for silver with 309.20 and her teammate, He Zi, earns bronze.
