The new iPhone 6-S has been on the market for two weeks and one particular model has been making waves in Asia. Apple decided to make the new phone available in rose gold and that's been drawing the eyes of many Asian women. Is this the beginning of an even bigger push into the region by the tech giant?

Lu Xiaojie bought her iphone 6s during the National Holidays and out of all the colors on offer, she picked the new rose gold.

According to Apple, Three million units of the iPhone 6s were sold in China during the first week on the shelves. 40 percent of them were rose gold. Apple has embarked on a mission to make the iPhone a bit more glamorous in recent years, making earlier models available in gold, and launching it's cheaper handset, the 5c in a range of colours. Analysts say this is Apple's way of targeting its phones at consumers in Asia.

Wang says Apple's latest iPhone lacks genuine innovations. It has 3D touch technology, making the screen more sensitive - but that has been in use for some time by Chinese phone makers like ZTE and Huawei. As the company is facing a bottleneck in innovation, Wang says it's forced to focus more on how the phone looks, than on what it does.

China is now the second largest Apple market, right after the Americas. Apple's third quarter financial report shows its revenue has increased by around 110 percent in China, compared with the same period last year.
