China has changed its submission for Best Foreign Film at next year's Oscars - this following notification from the awards organizers that the Sino-French film, 'Wolf Totem', was ineligible because, it did not have enough Chinese among its creative staff.

'Wolf Totem' ruled ineligible for Oscar

China Film News, a newspaper managed by the state broadcasting administration, reported that the Film Bureau was notified on October the 5th that 'Wolf Totem' did not meet requirements. While the main actors were Chinese, and the language was predominantly Mandarin with some Mongolian, the production team was largely foreign.

Instead, the bittersweet rom-com 'Go Away Mr.Tumor' will carry China's hopes. It's based on the real-life story of Xiong Dun, a young cartoonist dealing with terminal cancer.
