Little theater-goers meet 'Joey' in person |
It is one of the most enduring examples of theatrical magic ever created -- an assembly of steel and leather that, in the hands of three puppeteers, becomes a living, breathing entity with heart and soul, and a call to the heart of man.
In this behind-the-scenes treat, the puppeteers walk 'Joey' round the stage and even show kids how to manage him.
"My son's thinking skills have been broadened by the activity. Now he can think, 'oh horses could even be like that," said a parent.
'War Horse' is a play based on the book of the same name by children's writer Michael Morpurgo. The story is about the relationship between a boy from Devon and his horse as they are plunged into the horrors of World War I.
The drama has been staged in Beijing since September the 4th and runs until October the 31st.
