Fashion shows were ever a spectacle of beauty, but last night in Beijing, there was even more on display as "Miss Model of the World" contestants gathered. Organized by New Silk Road, "the Night of Fashion Beijing" marked the opening of China inStyle Expo 2015. It features major fashion brands as well as the handiwork of local designers.
"The Night of Fashion Beijing" features the Top 5 models of this year's "Miss Model of the World" competition, as well as 15 Chinese contestants that have represented China in previous editions.
They dressed in traditional Chinese gowns and evening dress, but blended east-meets-west aesthetics.
Meanwhile, Chinese fashion brands debuted their latest spring-summer 2016 collections, as well as the creations of independent designers such as Chu Yan, Huang Xun, and Mary Ma, the haute-couture masters in China.
The China inStyle Expo also includes several parallel events, such as a design competition that highlights up-to-date 3D draping technology and summits for industry insiders on themes ranging from crossover in fashion design to new media and online retailing. Meanwhile, an exhibition on the history of China's textile industry will be presented in the Beijing Exhibition Center until this weekend.
