Beijing's Imperial Ancestral Temple holds countdown

Another New Year's Eve celebration event, has been held at Imperial Ancestral Temple in the Forbidden City in Beijing. The theme of this year is "Golden Dream, Auspicious Beijing".

About a thousand people attended the event. They wrote their new year wishes on a cloth on the wall, and had their photos taken upon entering. Their photos will be put together on a screen to form the Chinese character "Fu", which means good fortune.
Special Beijing snacks were also available. And there were performances on traditional chimes. The countdown was part of the tradition in Beijing to usher in the New Year.
