Tensions continue to build over the DPRK's recent nuclear provocations.

The US has presented a draft resolution to the UN Security Council for new sanctions. A vote is expected on Tuesday. It was postponed from the weekend. Tokyo has imposed new sanctions and reinstated some restrictions lifted in 2014. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has voiced support for a tough response.

But he stressed that the sanction resolution should not bring negative effects to countries that have economic cooperation with the DPRK.
